    Study on the Impact of Private Enterprises\u27 Participation in the Mixed Reform of State-owned Enterprises on the Value Preservation and Appreciation of State-owned Assets

    State-owned listed companies in the commercial category in Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares from 2013 to 2020 were selected as the research sample. Data related to the shareholding and delegated behavior of private shareholders among the top ten shareholders are utilized. Using a fixed-effects model, we empirically analyze the impact of private companies\u27 participation in the mixed reform of state-owned enterprises on the value preservation and appreciation of state-owned assets at the equity level and the management right level. Explore the moderating effects of internal control and the level of market-oriented development on the above relationships. The study shows that the participation of private enterprises in the mixed reform of SOEs can effectively contribute to the value preservation and appreciation of state-owned assets, both at the equity level and at the management level. Meanwhile, the level of internal control of SOEs has a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between the participation of private firms in SOEs\u27 mixed reform and the value-added of SOEs\u27 assets; The participation of private firms can effectively compensate for the impact of insufficient market development on the value-added of SOEs\u27 assets

    Comparative analysis of the contribution of municipal waste management policies to GHG reductions in China

    Waste generation and disposal have been a global issue for decades. The total global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2019 were 49,758 MtCO2e with waste disposal accounting for 3.2%. With rapid urbanization trends, municipal solid waste (MSW) has become a global challenge which needs to be addressed. A large fraction of MSW such as food wastes, e-waste among others still ends up with unregulated dumps or openly burned in low-income countries. As a response, China initiated the ‘zero-waste’ pilot program which has been running since 2019. To investigate the potential contribution of MSW management to GHG reductions, this study selected four ‘zero-waste’ cities in China, namely Shenzhen, Panjin, Xining and Tongling, as case studies to assess the impacts of different MSW management policies on GHG reductions from 2015 to 2019. Results demonstrated that Shenzhen city achieved progress in reducing GHGs, which decreased by more than 40% between 2015 and 2019. This study provides policy recommendations and waste management approaches and practices to optimize MSW management and reduction of GHGs

    Genome-wide identification of the bHLH transcription factor family in Rosa persica and response to low-temperature stress

    Background Basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors are involved in plant growth and development, secondary metabolism, and abiotic stress responses have been studied in a variety of plants. Despite their importance in plant biology, the roles and expression patterns of bHLH family genes in Rosa persica have not been determined. Methods In this study, the RbebHLH family genes were systematically analyzed using bioinformatics methods, and their expression patterns under low-temperature stress were analyzed by transcriptome and related physiological index measurements. Results In total, 142 RbebHLHs were identified in the genome of R. persica, distributed on seven chromosomes. Phylogenetic analysis including orthologous genes in Arabidopsis divided RbebHLHs into 21 subfamilies, with similar structures and motifs within a subfamily. A collinearity analysis revealed seven tandem duplications and 118 segmental duplications in R. persica and 127, 150, 151, 172, and 164 segmental duplications between R. persica and Arabidopsis thaliana, Prunus mume, Fragaria vesca, Rosa chinensis, and Prunus persica, respectively. A number of cis-regulatory elements associated with abiotic stress response and hormone response were identified in RbebHLHs, and 21 RbebHLHs have potential interactions with the CBF family. In addition, the expression results showed that part of bHLH may regulate the tolerance of R. persica to low-temperature stress through the jasmonic acid and pathway. Transcriptomic data showed that the expression levels of different RbebHLHs varied during overwintering, and the expression of some RbebHLHs was significantly correlated with relative conductivity and MDA content, implying that RbebHLHs play important regulatory roles in R. persica response to low-temperature stress. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the study of RbebHLHs associated with low-temperature stress

    Butyrate Glycerides Protect against Intestinal Inflammation and Barrier Dysfunction in Mice

    This study investigates the attenuating effects of butyrate glycerides (BG) on intestinal inflammatory responses and barrier dysfunction induced by LPS stimulation. An initial dose-response test was carried out to identify the optimal dose of BG for further testing. The mice were given intragastric administration of BG at different doses followed by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) intraperitoneal injection. The small intestinal morphology and cytokine mRNA expression were measured. With 1.5 g/kg BW BG administration, it was possible to alleviate the injury of duodenal morphology, attenuate ileum villus height reduction and promote IL-10 mRNA expression. Therefore, the optimal dosage of 1.5 g/kg BW BG was selected for the main experiment. The ultrastructure image of jejunum and ileum epithelial cells, mRNA expression, the level of cytokine and immunofluorescence in the ileum were analyzed. The results showed that BG maintain the ileac brush border, tight junction structures and protein expression. BG attenuated the increased inflammatory cytokines, TLR4 and JNK mRNA expression. Taken together, 1.5 g/kg BW BG administration maintained intestinal barrier function and reduced intestinal and body inflammation responses induced by LPS in mice. The mechanism by which BG alleviated intestinal inflammatory response and maintained intestinal barrier function may be related to the JNK signaling pathway
